Task Force Plans To Tackle Fentanyl-Laced Heroin

Posted: Updated:

WORCESTER CO., Md. - A task force is meeting in Baltimore on Friday to tackle the issue of fentanyl-laced heroin.

The drug is a dangerous mix of heroin and a pain medication, which has been found responsible for dozens of recent deaths in Maryland. While there have not been any reported deaths in Worcester County due to the drug, State's Attorney Beau Oglesby says he is heading to that meeting, where state and federal partners as well as health experts will address the issue.

Oglesby says they do not have a concrete plan yet, but Friday may be the first step in taking preventative action before it does become even more of a problem.
