Information Sought On Laurel Home Invasion

Posted: Updated:

LAUREL, Del. - Police are looking for two suspects, after they reportedly tied up a woman and stole a gun, during an apparent home invasion in Laurel.

Delaware State Police say around 1:10 PM on Monday, they received a call from a person on Johnson Road, saying their neighbor's house had just been broken into, and that the woman was tied up.

An investigation reportedly showed that the 67-year-old woman had just let her dog outside, around noon, and was walking into her office when she was approached from behind by a man with a gun. Police say the suspect then taped her eyes and mouth closed, as well as her wrists and ankles, while demanding money, drugs, and guns, from her. The woman was apparently able to hear the two male subjects talking to each other, but couldn't give a physical or clothing description to Troopers.

According to the report, the suspects ransacked the house for about an hour before fleeing with a 9mm handgun, prescription medication, cash, and jewelry. The 67-year-old woman was uninjured during the ordeal, and was able to call her neighbor for help.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective K. Archer at 302-856-5850 ext. 224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Tips can also be submitted to the DSP Mobile Crime App, texting DSP to CRIMES (274637), or by visiting the TipSubmit website.
