Cambridge Man Hospitalized After Crash In Easton

EASTON, Md. - Maryland State Police say they are investigating a crash in Easton that happened early this morning.

According to reports, at around 2:45 AM, troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to westbound Route 50 in the area of Wise Lane for a single vehicle motor vehicle collision. Troopers say a blue Oldsmobile Alero had left the road way and struck a telephone pole. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was reportedly Ramon Gomez-Cortez who was trapped and had to be extracted by local fire companies. Police say the telephone pole was severely damaged causing electrical wires to hang low over Rt 50.

Gomez-Cortez was reportedly transported to Dorchester General Hospital for injuries. Police say charges for Gomez-Cortez are pending further investigation.
