UPDATE: Salisbury Man Sentenced For Counterfeiting

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man has been sentenced, after he stole checks while working at an elderly man's home.

42-year-old David Suire was sentenced to 20 years of incarceration, on Thursday, for two counts of counterfeiting and one count of theft that happened in March 2013. Suire was convicted of those offenses on October 1st, 2013.

According to the facts of the trial, Suire had been hired by a 92-year-old man in Wicomico County to do some home improvement work, and during that job, Suire took at least two check from the victim, wrote them to himself, and cashed them at a check cashing business in Salisbury.

Suire had a major criminal record and was on parole at the time of these offenses.

Wicomico County State's Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello stated "The State vigorously prosecutes individuals who decide to exploit the trust of vulnerable adults. If you think someone is financially exploiting a vulnerable adult in our community, please report it to the police or Adult Protective Services.
