GEORGETOWN, Del. - A Houston man is behind bars after allegedly stealing a box truck at gunpoint, and running from Police.

Georgetown Police say on Thursday, around 2:40 PM, they went to N. Old State Road in Ellendale, to assist Ellendale PD with a traffic stop of a U-Haul box truck, that had reportedly been stolen in Georgetown.

Police say the driver had fled, and officers were able to follow footprints in the snow from the truck, to the back door of a home on N. Old State Road, and found 32-year-old Kevin King II, inside. An Ellendale Police Officer positively identified King, as the suspect who ran from the traffic stop, according to the report.

An investigation apparently showed that King was riding in the U-Haul with another person, who had rented the truck, when he pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the subject, and told him to get out of the truck, at the intersection of US 113 and County Seat Highway.

Police say they searched the N. Old State Road home, and weren't able to find the gun, but did find possible crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia, in a nearby outbuilding that King had also apparently walked to before going inside the home.

Georgetown PD charged King with carjacking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, and theft of a motor vehicle. Ellendale PD charged him with possession of cocaine, and resisting arrest. King is being held at Sussex Correctional Center on bond, with a future court date.
