MARYLAND - Officials say a massive outage has hit the Pemberton Drive area, leaving thousands without power.

As of 7:20 AM Thursday Morning, Delmarva Power has announced around 6,000 people are without power in the area of West Salisbury, down towards Quantico.

Officials say they are having a problem with the Pemberton substation. Crews are reportedly on scene, working on the problem. No restoration time has been announced but Delmarva Power says they hope to have power in up in a few hours.

Officials suggest households that have sick, elderly, or small children to seek shelter at a family or friend's house for the time being.
