ELLENDALE, Del. - Two Ellendale residents have been charged, after Police say they were dealing drugs out of their home.

Delaware State Police say Troopers assigned to the Sussex County Governor's Task Force wrapped up a several week long investigation, on Friday, with two arrests. That investigation started with several complaints of drug activity at a home on Holly Tree Road in Ellendale, and showed that one of the residents, 37-year-old Shyron Floyd, was wanted out of Sussex County Courts.

When Troopers arrived on scene at the home, they say they saw Floyd standing at the front door, but he went inside when he saw them, and then back outside through the back door; but Task Force members were reportedly able to take him into custody, after a short foot pursuit. Police say while Floyd was running, he threw a brown pill bottle with 5 Oxycodone pills and a small blue bag with 720 bags of heroin, totaling 10.8 grams, which were later recovered.

A search of the Holly Tree Road home, where four children under the age of four were living, revealed a martial arts sword and axe, 3 Morphine Sulfate pills, 5 Suboxone strips, and over $1,100 in suspected drug proceeds. A second resident, 27-year-old Elise Hanwell, reportedly had 10 Methadone pills in her possession, and was also taken into custody. Police say the four children, two of which were Floyd and Hanwell's, were turned over to nearby relatives during the investigation.

Floyd was charged with two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a tier 5 controlled substance - heroin, two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of tampering with physical evidence, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $144,750 bond.

Hanwell was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance - methadone, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and released on bond.

Police say while they were at the home, several individuals drove up to purchase illegal drugs, they were all contacted, and released on criminal summons.
