Preston Fire Officials: 'Total Loss' Of Church After Blaze

PRESTON, Md. - The Preston Volunteer Fire Department says they responded to a church fire this morning.

According to reports, the blaze started at about 10:28 AM at Faith Fellowship Church on 23466 Brunkhorst Road in Preston. Officials say damages to the church are estimated at $200,000 and damages to the church's contents are estimated at $100,000.

Officials say no one was injured in the incident, and the fire took 30 minutes to control. The blaze reportedly started on the front steps of the church and was ruled accidental from use of a portable heating device to melt the ice. Officials say it was discovered by a church member.
