Perdue Makes Hefty Donation To United Way

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Perdue Farms makes another huge contribution to United Way, again topping the 270-thousand dollar mark.

United Way executive director Kathleen Momme says the money will remain on the Lower Shore to support 60 programs, including Meals On Wheels, Hospice Care and new uniforms for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

"It is truly putting food on the tables and making a difference with mentors," said Momme. "When you look at all the programs that our local United Way is funding, we're touching the lives of all ages."

This year's donation came out to more than $273,000. The contribution includes more than $180,000 pledged by Perdue employees and a $90,000 grant from the Perdue Foundation.
