Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md. - Police are looking for information, after a department issued weapon was reportedly stolen in Easton, from a police vehicle.

Easton Police say they are investigating two incidents, where an unknown person, broke into two vehicles, including an unmarked Police Vehicle, parked in the Golton Neighborhood, between Sunday and Monday. From the unmarked Easton Police Department vehicle, they say a loaded .40 cal Glock handgun, and a Glock magazine, were stolen, along with a black pelican case with a cellular response "rescue phone" inside, an all black ballistic vest, 2 older style gas masks, and a black Under Armor duffle bag with a white UA logo.

The vehicle was reportedly locked, with the weapon, which was not routinely carried by the officer, secured and hidden in the covert SUV. Police say the rear hatch window may have been compromised, allowing entry. The second vehicle, parked several houses down, a BWM, had the inside ransacked, but nothing was taken.

Police say two K-9 teams from the Maryland State Police and Natural Resource Police, specialized in tracking, assisted, and some pieces of the rescue phone were found in a wooded area behind the officer's home.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Easton Police at 410-822-1111, the Tip Line at 410-763-6140, online, or text EASTONPD to CRIMES.
