RELIANCE, Md. - Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred late Wednesday night.
Troopers were dispatched to the area of Finchville Reliance road at the intersection of Galestown Reliance Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that 33-year-old Benjamin Parks Jr. of Seaford was traveling westbound when he allegedly failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. When he proceeded through, Parks struck the vehicle of 38-year-old Aimee Bennett of Seaford. 41-year-old Thomas King and a 17-year-old was inside the vehicle as well.
Bennett, King and the teen were injured and trapped within the vehicle upon impact. Both adults were transported to Nanticoke hospital where Bennett later died as a result of her injuries. The 17 year-old was taken to PRMC Salisbury. Parks refused any medical treatment at the scene and was uninjured.
Police say charges are pending.
