UPDATE: Commissioner Files Response To Frank Ward

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - We have an update on the mortgage fraud case of Salisbury businessman, Frank Ward.

He's decided to fight the final order of the Commissioner of Financial regulation, which states he owes the state and his victims over $800,000 in penalties and restitution. His lawyer filed the appeal called a "petition for judicial review" just before Christmas.

On Tuesday, the commissioner filed his response to the petition, stating he intends to participate in the judicial review process. So, what happens now? More paperwork by the state and Ward's attorney.

Once all that's done, the circuit court will set a hearing date. I spoke to the assistant attorney general on this case, who admits it might be some time before Ward's case goes to court, maybe late spring or summer.
