Two Arrested On Attempted Robbery Charges In Georgetown

Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Two Georgetown men have been charged, after they apparently tried to rob a man, at knife point, at a gas station.

Georgetown Police say they were called to the Georgetown Royal Farms around 1:00 PM on Tuesday, in reference to a fight at the gas pumps. Officers met with the victim, who told them that two men had pulled a knife on him, and tried to rob money from him, before they fled from the parking lot. Officers put out a description of the suspects, who were found and arrested behind Fellowship Resources, about a quarter of a mile South of the Royal Farms.

Police say 31-year-old Timothy Kurak and 25-year-old Kenneth Polite, both of Georgetown, were both wearing clothing described by the victim. A knife was also reportedly recovered, close to where Kurak and Polite were found. The suspects were apparently positively identified by the victim, along with witnesses at the scene. Police say there were three small children in the victim's vehicle.

Kurak and Polite were charged with attempted robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. Both are being held at the Sussex Correctional Institute on bond.
