SHA Working To Repair Potholes Across Maryland

Posted: Updated:

MARYLAND - Officials are working to fix up roadways after the cold winter weather damaged them.

The Maryland State Highway Administration says they have crews out patrolling roads and repairing potholes on weekdays, during non-peak travel times from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The rains and snow storms, along with the changes in temperatures have caused potholes to come about in many roadways across the state. Some of the repairs will require crews to close lanes, so officials remind drivers to use caution and slow down near work zones.

SHA Administrator Melinda B. Peters says "Potholes are a normal result of the freeze and thaw cycle, so we are seeing more thanks to the numerous storms this year. Once potholes are reported, crews will respond within one business day to repair the pavement.

Drivers can help us locate potholes by reporting them through our on-line system." Drivers can report pothole locations online through the SHA website.
