SALISBURY, Md. - A New York man was arrested at a local airport, after he reportedly caused a disturbance, by running onto the tarmac.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says on Sunday, around 10:30 PM, they were called to the Salisbury-Ocean City/ Wicomico Regional Airport for a disturbance. An investigation reportedly showed that 30-year-old Darnell Richards, of Brooklyn, New York, was trying to find transportation back to New York, but didn't have any money on him, and was asked to leave to airport.

Police say Richards returned a short while later, and made his way through the passenger gate, onto the tarmac, where he tried to approach a commercial flight that was unloading passengers.

Richards was arrested, but apparently became uncooperative with deputies and at one point became physically combative. He was charged with disorderly conduct, trespassing, and resisting arrest. Richards is being held on $5,000 bond.
