Rehoboth Beach Church Raises $60 Thousand For Skate Park

Posted: Updated:

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A Rehoboth Beach church is inching closer to building a permanent skate park.

A rep from Epworth United Methodist Church says since August, they've raise more than $60,000, far surpassing the original $50,000 goal.

So, they've expanded construction plans to include more street elements, and upped the fundraising goal to $75,000.

There will be a zumba fundraiser on January 18th, at 1pm at Epworth, and the church is continuing to sell engraved bricks for $150 to raise money.

Officials say building the new skate park will take about eight weeks, but because of the weather, there's no date yet to begin construction.
