MAGNOLIA, Del. - A Magnolia woman is behind bars, after she reportedly fired a gun during an argument with her boyfriend.

Delaware State Police say on Thursday, around 10:00 AM, Troopers responded to the 200 block of Lambert Drive in Meadowbrook Acres after getting calls about gunshots in the area. An investigation showed that 39-year-old Jacqueline Hughes, was shooting at her boyfriend, an 18-year-old male. Troopers searched the area, and found Hughes under a rabbit hutch at a nearby residence on Lambert Drive.

She was arrested, and reportedly had a .32 caliber revolver with five spend casings and one live round still in the cylinder, along with 121 grams of marijuana and a digital scale. Police say once they got back to the house where the incident took place, they found an additional 126.8 grams of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia inside the house.

An investigation reportedly showed that the 18-year-old male and Hughes had been arguing about the drugs and the gun, which lead to her firing several rounds at him. The 18-year-old was not injured in the incident.

Hughes was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, 1st degree reckless endangering, aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held at Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $39,000 bond.
