SMYRNA, Del. - Police are looking for information after a reported roadside robbery in Smyrna.
Delaware State Police say on Wednesday, around 9:15 PM, at the intersection of Hemlock Way and Holly Hill Drive, a woman was walking home with a male acquaintance, when she was suddenly pulled to the ground from behind by an unknown male subject. According to the report, once the woman was on the ground, the suspect then took her purse, which had cash, prescriptions, and a debit card inside, before fleeing on Hemlock Way.
The 39-year-old woman sustained a head injury, and was transported to Kent General Hospital, where she was treated and released. Police say the male acquaintance was uninjured in the event.
