2014 Meet The Money Givers Kicks Off

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. – WMDT is proud to once again be partnering with the Delmarva Education Foundation for "Meet The Money Givers," a series airing twice a week, highlighting local scholarship opportunities, and the people who make those scholarships possible.

The Delmarva Education Foundation, or "DEF," is a non-profit serving primarily Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties by locating local scholarships. Rota Knott, Executive Director for DEF, says "We do not give out scholarships ourselves, but we help match local students looking for money with organizations and individuals who have money to give."

DEF is holding its Scholarship Fair on Saturday, January 11th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Centre at Salisbury Mall.  "It's open to high school graduating seniors, all high school students, it's actually great for sophomores and juniors to come to get a head start," says Knott. At the fair, more than 20 sponsors representing more than 100 scholarships will meet with the students on site to tell them about their scholarships and discuss the qualifications.

New installments of the 5th Annual "Meet The Money Givers" series will air Wednesdays and Saturdays, through mid-April.
