WMDT Announces Media Partner For 2014

Posted: Updated:

WMDT 47 News - After digging through all the applications, from so many deserving organizations, WMDT chose the First State Community Action Agency as Media Partner for 2014.

The agency is going into it's 49th year, serving residents of the State of Delaware. Their mission: To work towards the elimination of poverty and to lessen the effects of poverty on low-income people. First State provides several programs and services, like employment and training and something on everyone's minds now with the big chill, weatherization assistance.

"This is exciting, I think hopefully, and I know it will be a rewarding experience for the agency. But also for the people that we serve, it will give us an opportunity to talk about our services, and let people know the service we do provide," says FSCA executive director, Bernice Edwards.

First State will receive $100,000 in free promotion, including the production of four PSAs.

Thank you to all of the wonderful non-profits that applied. WMDT is committed to supporting the community and will continue our goals to help spread awareness in 2014.
