Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges For Two In Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. - Two Delaware men were arrested on drug charges, during a traffic stop.

Harrington Police say officers on patrol stopped a vehicle on Clark Street, near South DuPont Highway, for a traffic violation. During the stop, the officer gave the driver, 33-year-old Timothy Murray, of Milton, field tests, after he reportedly appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Murray was taken into custody, after completing the tests.

Officers then searched the vehicle and reportedly found 7 alprazolam pills and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle passenger, 29-year-old Brian Laurenzi, of Lewes, was then also arrested. Murray was initially taken to Milford Memorial for a blood draw for the DUI, before being arriving at Harrington PD to be charged.

Both Murray and Laurenzi, were charged with possess or consume any prescription drug not controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Murray was additionally charged with driving under the influence of drugs, driving without a valid license, and wrong way one a one way road. Both are being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on bond.
