Cambridge House Fire Leaves Behind $2 Million In Damages

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - An early morning house fire in Cambridge is under investigation, after it reportedly destroyed the entire home.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says the fire started just after 2:30 AM on Tuesday, and was discovered by a neighbor of the 5100 Ragged Point Road home. The 3 alarm fire took fifty firefighters, from Neck Volunteer Fire Department, an hour to control.

According to the report, both the cause and area of origin of the blaze, remain under investigation. Total damages to the 3 story wood frame, single family dwelling, are reported at $2 million.

Officials say that the property was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and that the home was completely destroyed in the blaze. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Lower Eastern Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
