Sticking To A Healthy Diet

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - We're almost a week into the new year, and if you're struggling with a new diet in the new year you're not alone.

Dietitian Kate Cerulli says to consider adding more fruits and vegetables to your meals, and make your portion sizes smaller.

Try to dedicate one day a week to eating completely healthy - like a "meatless Monday." And it's good cut back on the amount of food you eat out.

"We're kind of leaving it up to chefs in restaurants or what ever and we don't really know what they're putting into the food," Cerulli said. "Usually they want it to taste good so they're going to use a lot of sugar and a lot of fat."

Adopting a healthy living approach instead of focusing on just one aspect. That includes eating healthy, staying active for at least 30 minutes per day and getting plenty of rest.
