Grants Out, SU Students Look At Sponsorships For Documentary

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Filming has been delayed for a student documentary about a former Liberian child soldier.

Graduate students at Salisbury University tell WMDT they previously hoped to secured about $3,000 in university grants to help pay for the trip. We're told now, the money was denied. Producer Martin Jones says his crew is looking at corporate sponsoring to help with the costs.

"There's some dealerships, some other local area businesses, hospitals and doctors that we plan on hopefully meeting with in the next week to see if we can get funding," said Jones. "We're roughly $4,600 away from our budget."

The students hope to fly out to Africa and tell Charles Wratto's story of survival and goal to build a new school in mid-January.
