DEWEY BEACH, Del. - Hundreds of brave souls across the Eastern Shore washed away 20-13 today by jumping into the Atlantic Ocean.
In Dewey Beach, dozens ran and dived into freezing waters for the second annual Dewey Dunk, which helps raise money for yearly Dewey Arts Festival and Dewey Kids' Beach Party. WMDT caught up with one family moments after they took the plunge.
With his family by his side, Shawn Scarpaci of Wilmington says the waters were freezing.
"[We are] very, very chilly," said Scarpaci. "We got all the kids up to get out here and take a little plunge and wash over off 2013. It feels great."
