Seaford Man Charged After Apparently Carrying Knives In Pocket

Posted: Updated:

SEAFORD, Del. - A Seaford man was arrested, after Police say he was walking down the street with knives sticking out of his pockets.

Seaford Police say on December 28th, around 2:00 AM, they responded to Hickory Lane, for reports of a disorderly person walking in the middle of the roadway. Officers arrived on scene to find, 22-year-old William Martinez Jr., in the parking lot of Uncle Willies on Stein Highway, with several large knives sticking out of his back pants pockets.

Police say Martinez appeared intoxicated and refused to show his hands, so after officers asking numerous times, an Officer used his Taser on Martinez, who then fell backwards and hit his head on the pavement.

Police say Martinez was then taken into custody, and brought to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital by ambulance for his injuries, before being transferred to PRMC for further evaluation, where he was held before discharged on December 30th.

Martinez then turned himself into Seaford Police, and was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication. He was then released on $7,400 bond, pending a hearing.
