Three DE Men Charged After Shots Fired In Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. - Three men were arrested after they were reportedly involved in shots being fired at a Seaford apartment complex.

Seaford Police say on December 26th, at 10:45 AM, Officers responded to the Chandler Heights II Apartment Complex for loitering subjects. Once on scene, Officers say shots were fired, and they were able to give a vehicle description of a Chevrolet Malibu, with three black males inside, headed South on Sussex Highway. Police caught up with the Malibu on Sussex Highway, near Ockles Road, but say the vehicle continued to flee, before stopping at a dead end on Florence Avenue.

Officers arrested the three occupants, 18-year-old Xavier Aiken, of Seaford, 19-year-old Davaun Collins, of Laurel, and 23-year-old Joshua Ownens, of Blades. A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police say the three suspects were attempting to fight at Chandler Heights, when Aiken fired three rounds at an apartment in the Chandler Heights II Complex. A semi-automatic handgun was reportedly recovered by Police at the intersection of O'Neal's Road and Gum Branch Road. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Aiken was charged with 3 counts of reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal mischief. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Institute on $23,100 bond. Collins was charged with hindering prosecution, and released on $1,000 bond. Owens was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disregarding a police officers signal, and numerous traffic offenses.
