Posted: Updated:

RIDGELY, Md. - The cause of a Monday evening house fire in Ridgely is under investigation.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says the fire started just before 5:10 PM, in the first floor living room of a two story home on Ridgely Road.

The two alarm blaze, which was discovered by town employees, took sixty firefighters about two hours to control.

Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. Total damages are estimated at $60,000. The American Red Cross Delmarva Region says they are assisting the family of two at this time, by providing the family with shelter, food, clothing, and comfort kits.
