Harrington Barn Fire Ruled Accidental

HARRINGTON, Del. - A Monday afternoon barn fire has been ruled accidental in Harrington.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office the fire was reported by a neighbor, around 3:30 PM, on the 800 block of Carpenter Bridge Road, just East of Harrington. The Harrington Fire Company arrived on scene, to find fire coming from a large detached storage structure, and called for assistance from Houston and Felton Fire Companies.

Officials say the blaze was under control by 4:00 PM, and no injuries were reported. An investigation reportedly showed the fire started in the wall and was caused by an electrical failure in the building's electrical system. Damages are estimated at $5,000.
