DSP: Go Home New Year's Back Of Taxi Or Police Car

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - While you're out on the town ringing in the New Year, police are urging everyone to stay safe and off the roads if you're drinking.

Delaware State Police say once you have anything to drink, hand over your keys to your designated sober driver.

If you see someone drinking too much, call them a cab.

"You can either go home two ways either in the back of a taxi or the back of at police car," said Cpl. Gary Fournier. "We expect the public as well to report aggressive or drunk drivers, but do so safely. Pull off to the side of the road, dial 911 and let us know where that drunk driver is."

Delaware State Police will be out in full force throughout the state Tuesday night.
