SEAFORD, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that happened in Seaford Friday night.

Police were called to the 23000 block of Young Street in The Oaks development around 8:30 p.m.

Officials say a 53 year old woman was cleaning her parents house when a man came through the front door with a knife.  The man reportedly demanded money from the woman, but when she said she did not have any, he grabbed her purse off the couch.  Police say as the woman tried to take the purse back, the man punched her in the face before running off with the purse.

We are told the woman was slightly injured and was checked out by EMS on the scene and released.

If anyone has information regarding this incident, Delaware State Police ask the public to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or submit a tip at www.tipsubmit.com
