Salisbury Fire Department Urges Safety Tips For Holiday Season

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - As you continue to celebrate the holidays, do not let all of the excitement distract you too much from some potential fire risks.

The Salisbury Fire Department is reminding everyone with a Christmas tree to water it daily, and once it becomes dry, to remove it from the house. They say a dry tree can ignite easily.

If you plan on keeping your Christmas lights up, officials say to not overload outlets or extension cords, and to never leave them on when you leave the house or go to bed.

For additional safety information, visit the Salisbury Fire Department's website.
