Cambridge Man Arrested On Gun Charges In Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A Cambridge man is behind bars, after Police say they found a stolen handgun during a traffic stop in Salisbury.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says a Deputy stopped a vehicle on Log Cabin Road on Saturday around 1:40 AM, when they noticed that a passenger, 28-year-old Issac Jones, put a semi-automatic handgun between his legs. The Deputy arrested Jones, and seized the handgun which was found to be loaded, and had a round in the chamber ready to be fired.

An investigation showed that the gun was reported stolen in April 2013, and that Jones was prohibited from being in possession of a firearm because of a previous conviction.

Jones was charged with firearm possession by prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm, handgun in a vehicle, and handgun on a person. He is being held at the Detention Center on $70,000 bond.
