Big Deals For Last Minute Shoppers On Super Saturday

Posted: Updated:

WMDT 47 NEWS - It's probably easy to forget with temperatures hitting the 70 degree mark Sunday, but yes Christmas is just a few days away.  For all of you out there who might not have finished your shopping, or even started, it's not too late, and you actually might luck out with some pretty good deals.

Just days before Christmas, and all through the stores, the sales are abounding, "bargains galore," says EuniceCarpitella from Fenwick Island.

For last minute shoppers, days before Christmas can be pretty stressful.  Until you see signs like this where things are 80% off.  Some people say it's better than Black Friday.

"UUGH you know what, I drove into the outlets on black Friday," says Carpitella, "I couldn't find a parking spot.  I drove away."

Retail experts say fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas plus, plus frigid weather kept many from the stores this season.

Robin Cannatelli from Fenwick Island agree, telling WMDT "I had no interest in going outside."

But with the temperature hitting 70 degrees on what's technically the first day of winter, shoppers like Michelle Lorek and Rose Wiland from Baltimore jumped at the chance to enjoy the weather and the deals.

"We're getting ready to sit a blanket on the beach and go wrap our presents," they said.

Retailers are also taking advantage of procrastinating purchasers.

Toys"R"Us is staying open 87 hours straight, not closing its doors until 9 PM Christmas Eve.

Kohls will be open through 6 PM Christmas Eve.

Macy's in Salisbury and Dover have extended their hours, from 7am to 2am through Monday.
And at Target, after 40 million shoppers' credit cards were compromised, the superstore is giving an extra 10 percent off to shoppers through the end of the weekend.

Best Buy is dropping $100 from the price of Apple's MacBook Air.

Making life a little easier for people still buying gifts for the ones they love.

And as Eunice says, "you can't beat it, it's great!"
