Local Company Donates Ramp To Family Just In Time For Holidays

Posted: Updated:

Salisbury, MD. - Tyler Building Company, with the help of The Roof Center, is donating their own time and money to help a local member of community.

Through the "Jingle Bell Ramp Giveaway," the company is giving Linda Carlton, a mother of five children, an all-expenses paid ADA compliant ramp just in time for the holidays. Carlton was reportedly diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic and incurable disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, and Transverse Myelitis, a demyelinating disorder caused by inflammation of the spinal cord fifteen years ago. Her condition worsened and after spending more than two months in rehab, she was unable to come home due to difficulties getting up the steps of her home.

Now, with the help of the ramp, Carlton will get to spend the holiday at home with her family.

"She needed access in and out to make it easier, so we've donated material and labor along with the roof center," says Jason Chesnutt, a carpenter with the company.

This is Tyler Building Company's third year holding the giveaway. For more information, visit their website.
