INDIAN RIVER INLET, Del. (AP) - State environmental officials say work is underway on improvements at Delaware Seashore State Park.
Officials say the park is closed for the season to allow for construction on some $10 million worth of enhancements on both the north and south sides of the Indian River Inlet.
More than $7 million in federal funds are being used for the improvements, as the construction footprint for the new inlet bridge utilized state park lands.
The upgrades and enhancements replace what was taken away during construction.
Improvement include new and refurbished camping and RV sites, more parking, outdoor pavilions, a playground and bathhouse renovations.
