Hundreds Of Hopeful Winners Buy Lottery Tickets In Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to $636 million, making it the second-largest jackpot in United States history.

Lottery officials increased the amount this morning because of strong ticket sales, something that Thirsty's store in Salisbury has seen over the past few weeks, and especially today.

"We've had everyone from buying just one ticket to 200 dollars worth of tickets on a regular basis now," says Brock Brooks, manager of the store. "People are just going crazy over it."

Brooks says they usually get a long line in the store between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00. As of noon, Brooks said they sold between 50 and 60 tickets, and before 5:00, they sold between 300 and 400.
