SALISBURY, Md. -- Wicomico County circuit court found a Pennsylvania mother responsible for causing a crash in Salisbury that killed her young daughter.

Tabitha Dobrzynski was found guilty on Monday of criminally negligent manslaughter, driving while impaired by drugs, four counts of driving while impaired by drugs while transporting a minor, negligent driving, and a seat belt violation.

Wicomico County state's attorney's office tells WMDT a pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was deferred at this time.

The accident happened last August on the Route 13 Bypass where Dobrzynski lost control of her Jeep. Police told WMDT at the time, the vehicle overturned, throwing the 11-year-old passenger Sophie Dobrzynski from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other children suffered non-life threatening injuries at the time.

Dobrzynski faces a maximum six-and-a-half years behind bars.
