SNOW HILL, Md. - The State's Attorney's Office in Worcester County has announced they filed new charges in the case against a West Ocean City man accused of manslaughter.

Back in February, George Nottingham, 48, of West Ocean City, was charged with manslaughter in the death Michael Post, 39, of Ocean City, after an alleged assault. Post was found unconscious on the ground on Somerset Street. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Back in August, a jury sitting in the Worcester County Circuit Court was excused after a day of deliberations because they were unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the case, so the State Attorney's Office nolle prosequi those charges, so that they could file additional charges against Nottingham.

The State's Attorney's Office in Worcester County tells WMDT they have been building a stronger case against Nottingham since August.

A new trial date with additional charges, including manslaughter, is expected by the State's Attorney's Office sometime in the New Year.
