East Coast Governors Discuss Downwind Pollution

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Gov. Jack Markell is joining other East Coast governors for an announcement regarding the impact of out-of-state air pollution on Delaware and other states in the region.

Markell will join the other governors Monday in Washington for a news conference about a joint effort to reduce the impact of downwind pollution.

Last year, Delaware officials supported the Obama administration's decision to challenge a federal appeals court ruling that overturned an Environmental Protection Agency regulation clamping down on power-plant pollution that contributes to unhealthy air in neighboring states.

The case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.
