Two Arrested For Residential Burglary In Millsboro

Posted: Updated:

MILLSBORO, Del. - Delaware State Police say two concerned citizens who witnessed a residential burglary in the 62000 block of Bay Farm Road yesterday led to the arrest of two men.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 11:30 AM after Troopers received two calls about two men who were inside of an unoccupied residence. A responding trooper reportedly entered the residence's backyard, which was surrounded by a locked fence, and found Dale Parker, 31, standing by the rear door of the residence. He was allegedly holding a stick that he had used as a pry tool. Police say the trooper took Parker into custody without incident. Using descriptions provided by the witnesses, other troopers reportedly located the second burglar, Alex Sczcytkowski, 38, in a nearby parking lot. Troopers say they determined that the pair had stolen jewelry from the residence.

Reports say troop 4 detectives were able to link Sczcytkowski to twelve other burglaries that have occurred since September, in which electronics, cash, and jewelry were taken. These residential burglaries reportedly occurred in the Millsboro and Long Neck areas.

Police say Parker was charged with one count of burglary and related charges, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $10,000 secured bail. Sczcytkowski was reportedly charged with thirteen counts of burglary and related charges, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $$36,000 secured bail.
