Delaware Police Investigate Fatal Hit-And-Run

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware state police are investigating what they describe as a fatal hit-and-run in Wilmington.

Authorities said a woman's body was found about 8:45 a.m. Friday in a grassy area on Marsh Road.

Investigators identified the victim as 63-year-old Li Yu Zhang of Wilmington. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary information and evidence indicates that Zhang was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, but officials were still trying to determine when the incident happened and what kind of vehicle was involved.

Marsh Road between I-95 and Washington Street Extension was closed for about 2 hours because of the investigation.
