GEORGETOWN, Del - Police say a call for domestic assault in Georgetown led to a high speed chase that lasted almost two hours.

According to reports, Georgetown Police received a call Tuesday morning about a possible domestic assault in which a suspect driving a car allegedly tried to run over a female subject. When police arrived on scene, they were reportedly told the suspect was driving a Silver Nissan Altima. A witness at the scene also claimed that the driver had allegedly tried to run him over as well.

Investigators say they eventually located the vehicle on Trap Pond Road, traveling east.  According to reports, when police attempted to pull the Altima over, it sped off.

A chase ensued that reportedly led police through Millsboro, Dagsboro, Millville, Roxanna, Selbyville, Fenwick Island and continued through South Bethany, Bethany Beach and Dewey Beach.

Police say the driver of the Altima eventually went through the golf course of The Rehoboth Beach Yacht and Country Club before heading north through Rehoboth and Lewes. Police reportedly were able to box the driver in and get him to stop near the Route 1 bypass in Milford.

The driver of the vehicle was identified by authorities as Jorge Vasquez, 45, of Georgetown. He was the car's lone occupant.

Police say Vasquez was charged with reckless endangering, resisting arrest failure to stop on command of a police officer, among other traffic charges.

An investigation into this chase is still ongoing. Reports say the alleged victims left the scene and, currently, their whereabouts are unknown.

Anyone with any information on this is being asked to contact the Georgetown Police Department at 302-856-6613.
