SALISBURY, Md. - Local leaders and celebrities across the Eastern Shore made their way to Salisbury to help out the Lower Shore Chapter of The American Red Cross, while getting into the holiday spirit.
Armed with Santa hats and stockings ready to stuff full of money, WMDT's news team joined dozens of other notable names for the 19th Annual Red Cross Celebrity Waiters Luncheon & Auction. From raffles, to silent and live auctions this is the biggest fundraiser for the local Red Cross chapter.
Funds from this annual event are key to keeping their critical services going throughout the year. "This is our largest fundraiser and as such it is very important to our bottom line and our ability to provide the services that we do to the community. If we didn't do this, there would be a short fall and I don't know what I'd do," says John Culp of the Red Cross.
Besides raising thousands of dollars each year, this really is a fun event for all. If you'd like to see more pictures from the luncheon make sure to check out our WMDT Facebook page.
