MD Outreach Events May Help Answer Health Insurance Questions

MARYLAND - There are a number of events this month across Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties to get health insurance questions answered.

The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program says they have an extensive outreach and education campaign planned that will reach hundreds of uninsured residents.

In November, the program reportedly provided 38 public events. Throughout December, staff members plan to provide outreach, education, and enrollment opportunities for the public at the following confirmed locations:

·         Monday Dec. 2 – Riverside Pharmacy, Salisbury, 8 AM – Noon

·         Monday Dec. 2 – Milford Street Pharmacy, Salisbury, 1 PM – 5 PM

·         Saturday Dec. 7 – Pocomoke Walmart, 9 AM – 1 PM

·         Saturday Dec. 7 – Santa's Workshop, Salisbury Neighborhood Services, 7 PM

·         Monday Dec. 9 – Apple Drug Pharmacy, Berlin, 10 AM – 6 PM

·         Monday Dec. 9 – Apple Drug Pharmacy, Fruitland, Noon – 8 PM

·         Friday Dec. 13 – Salisbury Kmart, 9 AM – 1 PM

·         Saturday Dec. 14 – Berlin Walmart, 9 AM – 1 PM

·         Monday Dec. 16 – Peninsula Pharmacy, Salisbury, 8 AM – 5 PM.

The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program staff say they also have scheduled office hours Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 4:30 PM at various organizations throughout Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties. Locations reportedly include health departments, departments of social services, TLC Health Centers, PRMC, and libraries.
