20th Annual Caroling In The Park Brings Music & Light To Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. - The 20th annual "Caroling in the Park" event kicked off in Gateway Park tonight.

Residents gathered for Christmas tunes, hot chocolate, and the traditional tree lighting. To add to the tree's décor, participants could purchase a silver bell ornament in honor of a loved one, or just for fun.

The event also kicked off the city's community food drive by providing collection boxes.

"This year we are taking advantage of that opportunity by supporting the local charity, the Food Closet," says Acting Mayor David Genshaw. "What a great opportunity to start the holiday off right with our community."

The collection will continue at City Hall for non-perishable, non-expired food items until Friday, December 13th. Donations will go to local families associated with Community Food Closet in St. John's United Methodist Church and Seaford-Blades Associated Charities Inc.
