Home Of The Brave Signs Lease For Women's Facility

Posted: Updated:

MILFORD, Del. - Home of the Brave Foundation in Delaware will soon be able to provide for homeless female veterans.

Monday, the foundation announced they've signed a lease for what they say will be the first transitional housing facility for military women on Delmarva.

The building, on Causey Avenue in downtown Milford, was previously a transitional living facility just for homeless men under the name "God's Way To Recovery."

Home of The Brave hopes to open the new facility sometime in the winter of 2013/2014.  Fundraising efforts are underway to ensure this pilot program is successfully launched.

Home of the Brave has had transitional housing for male veterans for twenty one years.  That facility, located off Route 1, south of Milford.  Recognizing a need for a similar facility for female veterans, Home of the Brave decided to seek funds to stand-up such a program.
