Schools Kick Off American Education Week

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Parents of public school students: it's time to go back to school.

This week you can go inside your child's classroom and see exactly what they're learning. It's all apart of American Education Week, which allows elementary, middle, and high schools all over the nation to highlight their students and teachers.

"We need parents and guardians to come on out not only during American Education Week, but anytime so that they do know exactly what their students are doing," Salisbury Middle School principal Amy Eskridge said in an interview. "We have many students that are successful and we have others that are really struggling and we need our parents and guardians to be actively involved with us here at the school and be partners."

Last year, Salisbury Middle School officials say at least 450 parents came out, a number they're hoping to improve on.
