SALISBURY, Md. - A local police force is working to cut down thefts from businesses. Salisbury Police say they are hoping by publicizing the arrests they make for shoplifting, they will, in turn, reduce incidents of the crime.

They say that shop-lifters contribute to retailers having to raise costs to cover those stolen items. US retailers report $35 million in stolen merchandise, every day.

From November 12th through November 18th, Salisbury Police say they made eight shoplifting arrests.

Jason Thompson, 35, of Salisbury, MD
Lynn Burse, 19, of Millsboro, DE
Sara Carpenter, 23, of Delmar, DE
Kimberly Guerrero, of Stockton, MD
Joseph Purcell, 68, of Fenwick Island, DE
Terry Milbourne, 51, of Salisbury, MD
Roland Pianka, 29, of Salisbury, MD
Artisha Palmer, 24, of Salisbury, MD

All eight people were charged with theft.
