Berlin, Md. - After an apparent hit and run, police are still looking for the car, and person, who injured a man in Berlin Saturday night.

The Worcester County Sheriff's Department released pictures of evidence from the scene, including parts of a side mirror for a dark red GM car.

According to police, just after 5:30 Saturday evening, a 42 year-old Berlin man was hit from behind by a car as he was walking northbound along the shoulder of Stephen Decatur Highway (Rt 611) near Frontier Town.

The car apparently never stopped, and continued to drive north.

According to a Facebook post by a woman claiming to be a member of the victim's family, he was walking along the highway after getting a flat tire when he was struck from behind.  In her post, the woman says the victim was transferred to Shock Trauma for serious leg injuries.

While police say there weren't any witnesses to Saturday night's hit and run, people in the area say the incident isn't surprising, not surprising on what can be a very busy road.

"One man went straight down and went straight across into the woods area, says Barbara Johnson, who works at Buck's Place, a convenience store near the incident, "scares me a lot because there's so many families in the summer that travel back and forth up and down here."

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Worcester County Sheriff's Office at 410-632-11-11.
